Growing wings

The older I get, the more disillusioned I become with the things I used to believe in. It’s funny when you grow up and realize that rainbows are a product of sunlight refraction and there never really was a pot of Gold at the end. People hurt sometimes for the sake of hurting, whether they mean to or not and words like love are sometimes just words. No one is invincible no matter how hard you try to make them and death becomes real for the first time. You gain faith, lose faith, rebuild and start the process of growth as if it was another limb. There aren’t always answers for the questions that you want to ask and things cannot be finite. You realize inertia is not a value and things change, even if only for the sake of keeping life interesting. The people you know become the people you really knew the least and distance is what defines you. So you branch out see the world, gain a new perspective, become a better person and realize that the whole time you were making progress, the others were left behind. I’m not sorry that I grew wings.

  1. Grow your wings, but don't fly too far that you cant come back and help others grow theirs.

  2. Isn't that such a great feeling? Finally recognizing things about yourself that you truly do admire, and accepting the types of people that you just would rather never engage with again. Yeah, it's a nice feeling.
