It is Written

I let the moon creep in and hold me because you were not there.
I let the stars console me and laid in a creased blanket of night sky
being that the comfort of your bed is no where in sight.

I’d like to think that evenings will get easier without your touch,
but I’ve heard longing can be everlong and your distance feels to me
like continents divided by spaces between our love.

With every door I pass I know that somewhere out there you are waiting,
waiting to walk through and bring me back into your embrace;
maybe spinning out of orbit, dizzy like you make my head.

So tonight I will sleep and dream until we are reunited, stars and sky a mesh,
continents closing in, and you and me, filling in those spaces with all the words we never spoke but meant to say.

In the sky it is written “I love you.”
